Welcome to Akeley Wood Senior School.
We are an inclusive, family orientated school, offering incredible experiences both inside and outside of the classroom. We believe in encouraging pupils to seize opportunities from the broad range of subjects and activities on offer, through our strong academic offer and extensive extra-curricular opportunities.
Akeley’s vibrant and engaging community is located across three stunning campuses, all located between Buckingham and Stony Stratford. Wicken Park is home to our Nursery to Year 6 children, at Akeley Wood House we educate our Senior School students aged 11 to 16, and our Sixth Form, ‘AW6’, is located along the same road as the Senior School, at the impressive Tile House Mansion.
On each campus, we have created a learning environment where children feel comfortable to grow, but are also challenged to think and act independently. The teaching and support teams at the school are dedicated to making the educational experience here the best it can be. They challenge, they inspire, they have high expectations and most of all, they care.
Developing soft skills is one of the key strengths of an Akeley education. When students leave us at 18, they enter a world that can be challenging and complex.
Our role is to help to build character and resilience that enables them to face the world beyond the school gates with confidence and a ‘can do’ attitude. We are also keen to equip them with a set of examination results of which they can be rightly proud.
