School Transport

Home to School Transport.

Our comprehensive school coach service spans a 25 mile radius across Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire from where the majority of our students join us. Please consult our Transport to School brochure for the latest detail on routes.

The coaches also transport students between the three school sites of Akeley Wood House, Tile House Mansion and Wicken Park. This service is free of charge for families with siblings across multiple sites

Akeley Wood School’s coach drivers are CRB checked and uniformed, with mobile phones to communication any delays. Coaches are in good condition and subjected to monthly MOT checks.

Pick up and drop off times

We offer flexible drop off times between 8.00am and 8.45am. Pick up times are between 3.30pm – 4.00pm depending on your child’s year group, with a flexible late pick up provision until 4.30pm. Children are also able to sign up to extra-curricular clubs which also finish at 4.30pm.

Our wrap around care is available from 7.00am before school begins to 6.00pm once lessons and clubs are finished.

The senior school site opens at 8.00am for students to be dropped off, ready to begin school at 8.30am. At the end of the school day, Year 7 and 8 can be picked up from 3.50pm, and Year 9 to 11 can be picked up from 4.00pm. There are a range of after school clubs that students can attend and a homework club every Monday to Thursday which finishes at 5.30pm at no extra charge. Parents can drop off and pick up from the main front entrance of the campus building. Drop off is from 8.00am and pick up is at any point until 4.30pm. For students needing to stay at school beyond this time, there is a free shuttle bus to our Akeley Wood House campus where they will be able to join the homework club at no extra charge; this runs until 5.30pm. There is student parking onsite for those wanting to use their own car to drive to and from AW6. Please do call us on 01280 828122. if you have any questions.
