𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐤𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐲

During British Science Week, it was wonderful to see our students shining a light on the overlooked contributions of pioneering scientists and the innovations that quietly shape our modern world. Through thoughtful research and creative projects, they explored the breakthroughs of figures whose work was undervalued in their time—demonstrating the respect, integrity and curiosity that define true scientific discovery.

From the physics behind high-speed engineering of downforce of the Lotus 78 to the revolutionary ideas of scientists like Nikola Tesla and Hedy Lamarr, their work called on others to develop a new 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭 for these visionaries and the 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 they showed in pursuing progress. It was a powerful reminder that science is not just about what we know, but about who made it possible—and who will shape the future next.

𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬, 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐬​

Last week, our Senior School students took part in Neurodiversity Celebration Week with interactive games which highlighted the challenges faced by individuals with neurodiverse diagnosis.​

​Through hands-on activities, students gained insight into different ways of thinking, learning and experiencing the world. Funds raised went to Bucks Mind, a Buckingham-based mental health charity.​
